2013 had it's fair share of interesting events in Toronto, but five stories stood above the rest.
1. Rob Ford Crack Scandal
Rob Ford brought shame, fame, infamy, and celebrity to himself for smoking crack and eventually being forced to admit it in 2013. He was the talk of every news show in North America and beyond for his admission of smoking crack.
2. Ice Storm
Power outages impact a quarter million residents of Toronto in December as an ice storm drops several trees and branches, knocking out power in homes across the GTA.
3. James Forcillo of the Toronto Police shoots Sammy Yatim in a streetcar, which was a blantant use of excessive force, and was caught on camera.
4. Floods in the summer mess up Toronto's subway system, costing the city over $60 million.
5. The Toronto Maple Leafs blow a 4-1 lead in game seven of their playoff series with the Boston Bruins with just 11 minutes left to play. The loss shell-shocked Leaf fans across Ontario.
