Best Lines / Quotes from Roman J Israel Esquire movie
Some critics have slammed this film for having a somewhat scatterbrained plot at times, but that's what makes it interesting and exciting until the end. But also the quotes and lines of the eccentric main character, Roman Israel (Denzel Washington), make the film enjoyable to watch. Some of his best lines are:
"Each one of us is greater than the worst thing we've ever done."
"Each of us are agents of change."
[This a theme the director (Dan Gilroy) wanted to get out there, it's repeated a couple times in the film, and in his interviews]
"I'm tired of doing the impossible for the ungrateful."
"There are no enemies on the outside, the real evil is within."
"Whatever we're chasing, it's here."
"Pardon others folly, it's the first law of nature."
"I believe because of my beliefs."
"It's hard holding conflicting ideas in you head, it takes up too much energy."
In the below clip Denzel says his favourite quotable is line from Roman is when he's stuttering on the phone when asked by a lady to go to dinner.
The trailer underneath that clip is a good one, but it does kind of give most the film away, nonetheless isn't still an enjoy movie to watch if you know most of the plot.

Product Placement in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri movie
Aside from mentions of Aquafresh and Huggies, and a brief look at a Ford truck, the most glaringly obvious product placement in this film is from Kellogg's buying into the film.
In one scene in the kitchen table are two very visible boxes of Rice Krispies and Froot Loops cereals from Kellogg's. Not only that, but part of the stipulation of this product placement deal involved getting a line for both products. The first one is Mildred's husband saying their boy has Rice Krispies on his face, and later he calls him "Froot Loop" boy. It's subtlety done so no one will notice, well that's not true, obviously it has been noticed. And in a later scene in the kitchen, once again the two boxes of cereal are shown, in addition to another Kellogg's cereal "Frosted Flakes". In that scene the boxes are shown in two different shots. So however many thousands or millions Kellogg's forked over it was two have their product show in two scenes, with a total of three different shots, a total of three products shown, and two mentions of two products in the dialogue of the film.

THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI
This was a fascinating film because of it's blend of drama, seriousness, but very funny and edgy comedic moments. A lot of the writing and scenarios are hysterically funny. It plays out as a very entertaining film because of the strong comedy undertone which pushes to the surface in between tense emotional moments. It's as if the storyteller is uncomfortable with too much seriousness and drama and needs comic relief, which is much to the delight of the audience.
GOOD TIME
From start to finish you are on the edge of your seat with this film. You're instantly thrown into this wild crime scene and it's a thriller from start to finish. Interesting and funny comedic moments continually pop up in here, and Robert Pattinson can be nominated for best actor in this performance. He makes you not realize it's him in there as the Englishman dawns a Queens accent and persona that is very impressive and entertaining.

From the psychological horror that is taking place, the gruesome images going on before your eyes, the tension in the air, the laughing out loud comedic moments that pop up on your when you don't expect it, just like the fearful moments. THE FLORIDA PROJECT
Credit to Sean Baker for draping this movie in a nice light purple hue and also having the eye and gusto to bring in an amateur actress from Instagram (Bria Vinaite) to play the co-lead with the young star in Brooklynn Prince. Willem Dafoe does a fantastic job in his role as a compassionate motel manager who has to dawn a stern personal for the sake of his livelihood. This is a real look at the life of a low income single mother wandering existence, which doesn't sugarcoat the situation to make them dawn angelic wings, but gives a more authentic glance into the eyes of the hardship of a young mom trying to make ends meet, and on the flip side the wide eyed wonderment of a young child who sees magic in the same situations.
WIND RIVER
An interesting crime mystery of topic which is underreported, Native American reservation rapes and murders. You can gain a strong sense of compassion for many of these characters and their sorrow and grief offers not just a sense of empathy in the viewer, but also an undercurrent of hope and sunshine in this unique tale taking place in a cold winter in Wyoming.
Honorourable mention to American Made and Ingrid Goes West. There's also The Disaster Artist and Call Me By Your Name to come out soon, and those are well reviewed films as well.

3 Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is the best movie of the year
This film is probably the best movie of the year. It has a good story, unique characters, good acting, good writing, which combines drama and comedy in a very balanced way. It is actually a very funny movie which is interesting and impressive as it deals with a serious topic and ha a lot of intense drama in it. The jokes are not hokey or corny but in many ways a lot edgier than you'd expect in a film like this, and aren't forced by authentic to each character. The comedy keeps your emotions riding highs and lows because there is comic relief when things get too dramatic and serious as well as sentimental.
The characters are all interesting and what makes them more real and authentic s that they in a sense have all reached a point of not caring, so they're plain and unfiltered way of speaking is pleasantly entertaining. Their hearts have been hardened, yet we feel empathy for them and can sense they feel empathy for others; and as the film progresses the tightening of their hearts m slowly releases and the anger, while still present, has a softening and melting effect.
It this movie didn't have so many laugh of out loud moments it would still be a really good movie, but the comedy catapults it to a higher level to a great one and the best film of the year.

The absolutely worst line in the movie Zodiac
"The Coke machine's busted, by the way."
An awful product placement line in this masterpiece of a film. "By the way", like it was an accidental casual mention of Coke.
